82 Series
The Muncie 82 Series is a heavy duty, 8 bolt Power Take-off designed for driving mechanical equipment and high volume or multiple section hydraulic pumps with high torque requirements. The 82 Series features a cast iron housing, lever or air shift, and optional single or dual hydraulic pump mounts.
This PTO design incorporates a one piece housing design, 8-bolt mounting pad, direct mount pump flange, and air shift cylinder into a single casting, providing a rigid structure for high vibration environments.
The CS10 Series Power Take-Off is a heavy duty, Clutch Shift PTO designed specifically for Allison World® and Caterpillar transmissions. The CS10 Series PTO is engaged by means of a solenoid activated, wet clutch pack. The engagement solenoid is built into the PTO and installation is simplified by the requirement of only one hose connection. A remotely mounted solenoid option is available for a more compact installation.
The CS10 is rated to 500 lb.ft. torque and 95 H.P. @ 1000 RPM.
The CS20 Series Power Take-Off is a Clutch Shift PTO designed for Allison World® and Caterpillar automatic transmissions. The CS-20 Series PTO is engaged by means of a solenoid activated, wet clutch pack. The engagement solenoid is built into the PTO and installation is simplified by the requirement of only one hose connection. A remote mounted solenoid option is available for a more compact installation.
The CS41 Series Power Take-Off is an extra heavy duty, Clutch Shift PTO designed for Allison World® and Caterpillar automatic transmissions. The CS41 Series PTO is engaged by means of a solenoid activated, wet clutch pack and features a remotely mounted solenoid for a more compact installation. The CS41 is rated to 600 lb.ft. torque/intermittent and 420 lb.ft. torque/continuous.
The FR and FA Series power take-offs were designed in cooperation with Ford Motor Company's engineers to fit the 5R110 "TorqShift?" and 4R100 automatic transmissions. Two models of each series are available: the FR62 and FA62 for two wheel drive vehicles, and the FR64 and FA64 for four wheel drive. The FR62, FR64, and FA62 are available in both remote and direct mount pump models. The FA64 is available as a shaft front, direct mount pump model only. All are wet clutch type power take-offs.
The GA/GM series power take-offs are Clutch Shift style PTOs designed in cooperation with GM engineers for the Allison 1000, 2000, 2400 series transmissions. These PTOs are specifically for application on 2001 and newer General Motors 3600 series trucks. Both models are the same PTO unit with the difference in the shifting and mounting kits required. The GM model requires the use of special solenoid and hydraulic pump tubing, as well as heat shields for the PTO and direct-coupled hydraulic pump.
Both the GA and GM utilize a remote mounted shift solenoid and shortened closed bearing cover to keep the PTO size to a minimum.
The GB Series front mount gearbox offers a variety of options for crankshaft driven power take-offs. Available in a wide range of speed ratios, shift options, and pump mountings, the GB Series gearbox is a versatile unit for front drive applications.
The top half of these gearboxes consists of a modified Muncie SG Series single gear PTO and mounting plate. The bottom unit can be a TG (GB10), CS (GB60), or reversible PTO (GB30 and GB40) depending on the system requirements. This type of PTO is relatively uncommon now but was once the standard means of providing power on snow control vehicles.
Rear mount PTOs have been the standard in Europe for many years. They are typically easier to install because they are not subject to the interference problems common with side mounted power take-offs. They are becoming more common in North America due to limited access to traditional side mount transmission openings. Muncie in partnership with our European operations offers a wide range of rear mounted PTOs for foreign and domestic transmission applications, including the Eaton Ultra-Shift automated manual transmissions and the new Caterpillar fully automatic transmissions.
The SH Series PTO is an air shift only power take-off designed specifically for high torque applications such as pneumatic blowers, vacuum pumps, bulk feed trucks, and high volume hydraulic pump drives. It was designed to fill the gap between the TG Series and the extra heavy duty 82 Series.
The PTO Shaft Extension is an exclusive, patented Muncie product that allows for direct coupling large displacement pumps on Allison "World" automatic transmissions. Where envelope space around the PTO aperture is limited, the PTO Shaft Extension moves the pump-mounting flange to the back of the transmission for easy installation. Models are available for both Clutch Shift and Constant Drive Muncie PTOs.
The TG Power Take-Off is the most widely used PTO in the industry. It is the most versatile double gear type PTO available, with 10 speed ratios, 16 shift types, 18 output shaft options, and input gears for all popular transmissions. The TG Series PTO can be configured to meet the speed, torque, and horsepower requirements of most applications.
